Hello and Welcome to Will Barker Assessments

Welcome to Will Barker Assessments, a space dedicated to understanding, supporting, and empowering neurodivergent young people. Today’s world places enormous demands on children and adolescents—socially, academically, and emotionally. For those who are autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, or otherwise neurodivergent, these pressures can feel even heavier, especially when their needs have not yet been recognised or understood.
Before assessment and intervention, many young people navigate daily life with invisible barriers. They may struggle to keep up with the fast pace of school, manage sensory overload, or decode complex social expectations. Some work incredibly hard to mask their difficulties, leaving them exhausted and misunderstood. Others experience frustration, anxiety, or low self-esteem because they know they are capable, yet the world doesn’t seem built for the way their brain works.
Families often see their child’s strengths clearly—creativity, deep focus, unique problem‑solving, passion—but without the right support, these strengths can be overshadowed by challenges that feel overwhelming. Teachers may notice inconsistencies in performance or behaviour but lack the clarity needed to provide targeted help. And young people themselves may feel confused, isolated, or unsure why certain tasks seem harder for them than for their peers.
At Will Barker Assessments, our mission is to bring clarity, compassion, and evidence‑based understanding to this journey. Through high‑quality psychological assessment, we help young people and their families make sense of their experiences, access the right support, and move forward with confidence. Neurodivergence is not a deficit—it is a difference. With the right insight and intervention, those differences can become powerful strengths.

Mission Statement
At Will Barker Assessments, our mission is to ensure that every neurodivergent child and young person feels seen, understood, and supported. We believe that each individual’s strengths, challenges, and lived experiences deserve to be recognised with curiosity, respect, and genuine care.
Our work is rooted in the belief that neurodivergence is a natural and valuable part of human diversity—and that with the right insight and guidance, young people can thrive on their own terms. We are committed to delivering holistic, evidence based assessments and interventions that honour the whole person: their mental health, physical wellbeing, neurodevelopmental needs, family relationships, and daily environment.
Through compassionate practice, gold standard diagnostic tools, and inclusive therapeutic approaches such as 123 Magic and Non Violent Resistance, we aim to empower young people and the adults who support them.
Our mission is to create clarity where there has been confusion, confidence where there has been doubt, and hope where there has been overwhelm. We strive to offer a safe, welcoming space where young people can explore who they are without judgement—and where families can access the guidance they need to move forward with understanding, connection, and practical support.
Above all, we are dedicated to championing person centred care that celebrates individuality, strengthens resilience, and helps every young person feel equipped to navigate the world in a way that works for them.
